As the opposite of  the traditional world of black-and-white learning from the 1950s that persists today, technology enhanced teaching offers limitless tools that can literally be used to increase students motivation. The  black text on white pages or white chalk on blackboards seems quite unappealing if we consider the fact that they are exposed to all types of technology gadgets in their homes. Technology in its many forms is showing how teaching and learning can paint with a much broader palette of colors, from images and music to games, simulations, wikis, and many others, any time, any place, on laptops, desktops, and smartphones.

Today's students find this new world of digital learning to be very motivating. In fact, as some have said, today's youth are "born digital." That is why in our school we are striving to integrate ICT in our everyday lectures. At least 30% of our lectures include the use of web 2.0 tools and ICT.

In March, 2018 a survey was conducted between the teachers to discover  what are the most effective ways to use technology in the classroom.

The 3 most effective ways are:

1. Global learning
Students can study abroad without ever stepping foot out of the classroom. With video conferencing technology in the classroom students are offered exhilarating educational advantages such as learning languages from native speakers, being exposed to other cultures, and making friends all over the world. Video conferencing can bring an exciting and invaluable experience to your students

2. Multimedia
Multimedia can stimulate more than one sense at a time, and in doing so, you can reach all different types of learners and hold student’s attention longer. Giving students the ability to create and utilize different types of multimedia creates a more collaborative classroom and allows students communicate and actually apply what they are learning, enhancing the overall educational experience

3. Classroom gaming
Even though in the past the young were being told that video games are bad and will “rot your brain”, well now studies show video games can improve student learning. There are tons of educational games that allow students to apply and test what they have learned. Students can get motivated by challenging each other and if done on a mobile device, students are more likely to continue learning outside of the classroom.  Using educational games is one of the best ways to use technology in the classroom to make students eager for learning.
